Project Initiatives in Energy, Biotech and Health Sectors :

Energy Sector

Green power Management.

Transmissionless Distributed Green Power Systems with centralized IP control, metering and monitoring facility.

Problem Statement

Today the world is facing a destabilizing dependency on irreplaceable fossil fuels which are also rapidly dwindling. As shortages of oil and natural gas occur with more frequency, the New Energy Crisis is now heralded in the news media. However, an alternate source of energy that can replace fossil fuels has not been reliably demonstrated. Coming to high end power systems such as Hydro, Thermal and Nuclear etc., the issues of transmission and global worming are plenty. Transmission, distribution and maintenance of high power devices such as transformers is very costly and into billions of dollars. All these costs add up to your energy bill.

So people are always looking for alternatives

At present we have Wind and Solar power as an alternative renewable green energy sources. But Solar power is very costly as on today and Wind power is having many physical constraints.

Therefore a real need still exists for a portable source of power that can compete with fossil fuel and its energy density. If that power can drive your household/ business/ industry needs in the form of electricity and as well your automobile needs then the present energy crisis can be solved amicably while not damaging the GREEN part of the environment. If that source of power is fuel-less which, by definition, does not require re-fueling. The future energy freedom, and quite possibly the future survival of mankind depend on the utilization of such a source of energy.

Solutions Proposed

When it comes to the power generation, we mainly think about Hydro and Thermal (steam) power stations which are naturally huge centralized power plants and require very big distribution networks for power transmissions.

This huge infrastructre and its maintenance will add up to the energy cost.

If the power is generated locally then all the distribution and maintenance cost will reduce dramatically which may run into billions of dollars.
If we use the natural forces which are abundant to generate electricity instead of fuels, then our concern of rapid dwindling of fuels will be solved.
Examples for the experimental evidence for the existence of ZPE include the following: (As per a scientific literature review.)

1) Anomalous magnetic moment of the electron
2) Casimir effect
3) Diamagnetism
4) Einstein's fluctuation formula
5) Gravity
6) Ground state of the hydrogen atom
7) Inertia
8) Lamb shift
9) Liquid Helium to T = 0 K
10) Planck's blackbody radiation equation
11) Quantum noise
12) Sonoluminescence
13) Spontaneous emission
14) Uncertainty principle
15) Van der Waals forces

We use only a couple of forces in our energy efficient power generating techniques. Since there are no fuels or chemicals used, this can ensure Green part of the environment. A permanent solution to the world energy problem, dramatic reduction of biospheric
hydrocarbon combustion pollution, and cessation of building nuclear power plants (whose nuclear component is used only as a heater) could be readily accomplished by the scientific community.

However, to solve the energy problem we must
(i) update the century-old notions in electrodynamic theory of how an electrical circuit is powered, and
(ii) rid the classical electrodynamics model of numerous serious foundations flaws.
We summarize the problems and essential changes, based on more modern developments in particle physics and gauge theory well after the foundations of electrodynamics were set. Self-powering systems readily extracting electrical energy from the vacuum to power themselves and their loads can be quickly developed whenever the scientific community will permit their development to be funded.

Implementation Methodology and mode of operandi.

Energy/ power devices with IT control

The Energy or Power source, will be controlled by a control unit, preferably a remote control either through telephone lines or internet IP control (web portal) or a wireless lan (ip control) with proper encryption and user access rights. In the process of acheiving this ability we are using the regular telephone lines or internet ip networks for sending commands (Remote Command or Tele Command).

This control unit determines the ownership of portable power sockets and regulates the usage in a distributionless localized power systems with centralized control and monitoring facility.

Power generation is need to be a controlled activity as far as possible in the National Interest. It also helps the Service and Infrastructure providers to have a close monitoring in the case of any exigency.

After taking the care of IT control unit for Power generators, a decision will be made as to which kind of techniques we have to use to achieve the max Energy efficiency.

Basically there are 3 types.
1) Water based Fuel Cell and Real Time Hydrogen generator (for Auto Industry)
2) Electrodynamics with moving parts and
3) Electrodynamics with non moving parts

All three types will have electronic circuits which are required for the over unity power generation.

To begin with, we can work on small power generators to see the the consistency and reliability before deploying them into the commercial market.

Performance Measurement and Monitoring.

Having tagged with identity numbers, centralized control, meetering and monitor system we can have the complete map of its usage network and also the status of the items whether troubled or functional in operation.

And also one can map this network with Global warming monitoring systems and measure the degree of corbon pollutions.

Particularly when used in Auto industry, one will see a remarkable difference in corbon pollution rates.

One can also compare the price per unit energy spent with other commercially available energies like Solar, Wind or Hydro and see the substantial difference.

Health Sector:

Problem statement:

Healthcare costs have risen from $3,468 per person in 1993 to $8,160 in 2008, and costs continue to rise. It is estimated that in the next 5 years, healthcare costs will increase almost another 50% to $13,100. These high costs might be justifiable if Americans benefited by being among the healthiest people in the world, but sadly, we are far less healthy than people living in countries where healthcare costs are much lower. Our current system attempts to manage end-stage disease; it does not promote health. We need to change not just the way in which disease-care costs are paid, but the care that is provided. To lower healthcare costs and make true health care available to all, we need to focus on health promotion and disease prevention, not on how to shift the costs of disease care.

Solutions proposed:

How can we Cut Healthcare Cost and Save Billions of Dollars, just few examples.

We outline here what measures are needed to enhance the awareness and eating habits of Americans can result in reductions in healthcare expenses.

Obesity: If obesity continues to increase at its current rate, analysts predict that by the year 2020, we will be spending 20% of all our healthcare dollars on obesity-related problems. We now know that excess fat, especially visceral fat, is not merely a storage depot for extra calories, but functions as an endocrine organ significantly increasing inflammation and the risk for chronic degenerative disease. The enormous impact of obesity is due to its promotion of other chronic preventable diseases, including type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and cancers. For example, experts estimate that one-half of all type 2 diabetes cases could be prevented simply by controlling obesity! If we could lower the rate of obesity (even by a modest amount) through a healthier way of eating campaign, researchers project that we could also lower cases of chronic preventable disease by about 15 million cases. That reduction in chronic preventable disease translates into $60 billion dollars less in treatment costs, and $254 billion dollars more in workplace productivity.

Heart disease: According to research experts, it would not take complicated dietary changes to trigger major reductions in heart disease rates and their associated healthcare costs. For example, if we could simply take the 2% of the calories the typical American is consuming in the form of trans-fat and replace this 2% with polyunsaturated fat, we could reduce our rate of coronary artery disease (CAD) by at least 8%, and probably by much more in the 25-30% range! Since healthcare costs related to CAD total nearly $200 billion per year, we're talking about a potential savings of $50 billion dollars from a single dietary change that swaps a small amount of polyunsaturated fat for trans-fat.

Diabetes: In 2002, an estimated $132 billion was spent on diabetes-related health problems, including about $40 billion on sick day costs and disability related to this chronic preventable disease, including blindness, amputation, heart disease, and early
death. Since healthcare analysts predict that half of all diabetes cases could be prevented if obesity were prevented, approximately $40 billion in diabetes-related costs could be cut simply by the implementation of a healthier way of eating that corrected or prevented obesity. I don't have good estimates for the cost savings related to other dietary steps that can be taken to lower risk of type 2 diabetes, but I definitely know what these steps are.

Even without reversing the problem of obesity, I am confident that dietary changes to a healthier way of eating could save many lives and billions of dollars in healthcare costs related to diabetes, its treatment, and its impact on everyday productivity.

Cancer:The American Cancer Society estimates that we are spending over $100 billion each year on cancer-related costs, and there is some research to suggest that about one-third of all cancer deaths could be prevented by simply choosing to eat healthier food. Since $57 billion dollars are estimated to be lost each year following premature death from cancer, prevention of 33% of these deaths by a healthier way of eating alone would mean about $20 billion dollars in healthcare savings each year. In the case of colorectal cancer, it has been estimated that a healthier way of eating combined with exercise could prevent more cases than implementation of early screening.

While it is somewhat mind-boggling to consider, all of the evidence described above points to a very clear-cut conclusion. According to healthcare experts, our best bet for reversing chronic preventable disease rates does not lie in more expensive medical procedures, or in more sophisticated technology or in further specialization with respect to testing and medication. Our best bet experts agree, lies in the simple, everyday practice of a lifestyle change in the foods that we eat. We could be saving millions of lives and several hundred billion dollars in healthcare costs related to obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer if we would consistently eat health-promoting foods-foods that the peer-reviewed medical research has already demonstrated can prevent or help prevent these diseases. Instead of spending more money and having more disease (our current situation), we would be spending less money and having less disease!

What's also remarkable about the chronic preventable disease patterns described above is the degree to which they overlap when it comes to dietary prevention. Based on current research, we do not seem to need one diet for preventing heart disease, a second diet for preventing diabetes, a third diet for preventing obesity, and a fourth diet for preventing cancer.

What seems to be needed in the case of all four chronic preventable diseases is that the changes in the foods we eat move in the same general direction: decreased intake of sugar, salt, animal fat, and processed foods, and increased intake of lower-calorie, lower-fat plant foods, especially fruits and vegetables. Dietary prevention in the case of all four chronic preventable diseases calls for a greater focus on health-promoting foods, and a food plan that can be followed and enjoyed day after day, year after year.

Our tools provide all the healthy food information and also disease control information on the finger tips to doctors, patients and health care professionals, so that they can effectively implement this. We also provide documentation frame work which can be available on web server.

In a wealth building economic activity, the yard stick to measure the performance is, how much less budget is spent in hospitals in a given district or community area. We even post performance metrics online for transparency. Health care professionals get right recognition and also health of the community increases.

In the present system, if people are healthy, health care industry looses money, thereby healthcare professionals get less incentives which is conflicting SYSTEM interest with its own IDEOLOGY

Implementation Methodologies:

IMIS-HC Integrative Medicinal Information System for Health Care in a proactive environment.

Technically speaking, it will be in a cloud computing environment with well organized service oriented architecture.

IMIS-HC is basically comprises an IT forum and enable the designated group to interact both online and offline depending on their needs and also constitutes tightly knitted databases, based on which the scientific and logical inferences will be made in no time.

And also this ensures transparency as this information is made available to different health care personnel that include doctors, pharmacists, bio chemists, micro biologists, nutritionists, nurses, patients and insurance agencies.

Using the state of art technology and advancements in IT and embedded computing, a product is here by initiated for fast, vibrant and diversified ethnic food cultures, where the doctors and patients can gain more time and In-depth analysis of nutrition / food intake comprising various carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, Minerals, acids and trace elements. This product is basically a hand held devise, and is functional by itself without using internet, telephone or computer except for yearly upgrades. By using this power of
IT and embedded computing in Health Care sector, we can improve the Quality of Service which in turn improves the Quality Of Life. The analysis and recommendation reports are made available with a varying degree of comfort and complexity depending on the client at the user end. Project Objectives 1) Enhanced Nutrition awareness and health consciousness in general 2) Eat wise and spend reasonable 3) Gaining sufficient time and thorough understanding before going for a prescription 4) The number of visits to doctor can be reduced as the patient is also aware and educated 5) Well documented food administration 6) Very cost effective solution (20$ a year, less than 2$ a month) 7) Concept is to be extended for commercially available eat-outs like McDonald, Burger King, Starbucks etc, so that the people are aware and know their limits 8) Database triggers to alarm patients in the event of any special precautions 9) Paves the way for commercially vibrant and socially responsible societies.

Performance and Expectations:

Having provided necessary infrastructure for effective communication, recording and computing accountability can be fixed with in a group, and performance measurements can be made at regular intervals with in the community groups and monitor the expenditure and disease rates.

For instance, Take a time frame of 5 years and take a particular community group where Obesity rate is high and is increasing every year, implement this IMIS system and see the result year wise to find that Obesity rate decreases gradually.

By considering the previously mentioned Obesity rate in the problem statement, if we can bring down obesity in next 10 years, then we can save nearly 60 billion dollars in treatment cost and nearly 254 billion dollars at workplace productivity.
